Kingston woke up pink on Sunday.

Thousands of Jamaicans filled Emancipation Park and the streets around it on Sunday morning, October 25, for the Jamaica Reach to Recovery Pink Run 2026, a 5K run, walk and wheel under the theme Miles and Miles of Hope.

Survivors led the spirit of the morning. Families walked for mothers, sisters and friends, and church groups, community groups and corporate teams turned out in pink tutus, bows and event tees.

The run raises money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. This year’s staging targeted 20,000 participants and $30 million toward mammography equipment for Jamaica.

Television Jamaica spoke to participants on the ground, and the message was simple: get tested, support the women fighting, and keep showing up for each other. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Kingston showed what that looks like in person.
