Reggae royalty is heading to Accra. Morgan Heritage, the Grammy winning family band formed by children of Denroy Morgan, will headline the Ghana Jamaica Homecoming Festival in Ghana this December, with tickets now on sale.

What has been confirmed

DancehallMag, in an event listing updated October 15, 2026, says Morgan Heritage will perform live on the main stage on December 25, 2026, in Ghana, with Gramps Morgan at the centre of the announcement.

The Vaultz News, also reporting on October 15, 2026, describes the wider festival at Legon Sports Stadium in Accra, spearheaded by Gramps Morgan through Dadason Entertainment in partnership with Broadway Entertainment, and says Ghanaian reggae and dancehall artist Samini has also been confirmed. Readers should note the two reports describe the December schedule differently, and the full festival timetable is still to be confirmed by organisers, so check the official festival listing before booking travel.

More than a concert

Organisers present the festival as a cultural and economic bridge between Ghana and Jamaica, and between Africa and the Caribbean diaspora. The programme described by The Vaultz News includes cultural exhibitions, food, heritage activities, panel discussions, community engagement, and a business and investment forum covering areas such as fashion, food, agriculture, tourism and trade.

The Musicians Union of Ghana is reported to be backing the event, and media partner Pluzz 89.9 FM is supporting promotion.

Why the link resonates

Ghana and Jamaica share deep ancestral and musical ties, from Maroon history to the kinship between highlife and reggae. A homecoming festival built on that shared story, with Morgan Heritage on the main stage, is exactly the kind of diaspora moment Jamroc Nation readers live on both sides of the Atlantic.

Full lineup details and performance times are expected as December approaches.
