Jamaica is on the rise with travelers. The island has been ranked No. 5 among the top islands in the Caribbean and Atlantic in the 2026 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, climbing from a top-10 finish in 2025. The recognition is another milestone for Jamaica’s tourism industry and its growing reputation for world-class hospitality.

S Hotel Montego Bay leads the honorees

S Hotel Montego Bay was named the No. 2 hotel in the Atlantic, Caribbean and Central America, making it the highest-ranked Caribbean property in the category. Only a Costa Rican hotel finished ahead. The Jamaican-owned property climbed from fifth in 2025, a notable rise that comes nearly a year after Hurricane Melissa disrupted tourism across Montego Bay.

‘We are incredibly proud to see S Hotel Montego Bay ranked as one of the top hotels by Condé Nast Traveler’s readers,’ said General Manager Anne-Marie Goffe-Pryce. ‘This recognition reflects the passion and care our team brings to every guest experience.’

Jamaican resorts earn their place

Several of the island’s most storied resorts also featured in the Best Resorts in the Caribbean Islands rankings. Half Moon claimed 13th place, followed by GoldenEye in 17th, Round Hill Hotel and Villas in 21st, and Sandals South Coast in 22nd. Jamaica Inn also earned eighth place among the top hotels.

What the ranking signals

The Readers’ Choice Awards drew more than 798,867 survey responses from readers across the United States, making it the travel industry’s longest-running and most prestigious reader-voted accolade. Jamaica’s climb reflects its appeal to travelers seeking beautiful beaches, authentic cultural experiences, warm hospitality and memorable Caribbean holidays.
