Jamaica are moving up. The Reggae Boyz have climbed one place to sixth in the latest Concacaf Men’s National Team Rankings, and they remain the highest ranked Caribbean team in the region, with a Nations League quarterfinal against Mexico now on the horizon.
The numbers behind the rise
Jamaica now sit on 1,530 points, just four behind fifth placed Costa Rica on 1,534. Mexico lead the region on 2,097 points, followed by the United States on 1,877, Canada on 1,821 and Panama on 1,655. Below Jamaica, Haiti hold seventh place and Honduras sit eighth, while Curacao have climbed into the top 10, a strong window for Caribbean football all round.
A group campaign that held up
The rise was built across the Nations League window. Jamaica beat Guatemala 3-2, lost 1-0 to Honduras in Kingston, answered with a 2-0 win over El Salvador and closed the group with a 1-1 draw against Honduras. Those results were enough for second place in League A Group B and a place in the quarterfinals.
Mexico, and everything that comes with it
The next test is the biggest one available. Jamaica face Mexico over two legs in November, home and away, with the winner advancing to the Nations League Final Four in March 2027. The loser drops into the Gold Cup preliminary rounds, so the tie carries both a trophy path and a consolation route. For a team now ranked sixth in the region and first in the Caribbean, it is the chance to prove the ranking on the field.
